“Alpha” by Brodie Neill is at London Design Festival

Alpha is a solid-wood all-purpose chair produced using the latest production technologies of shaped wooden furniture. The name Alpha is derived from the strong architectural gesture that gives the stackable chair its inherent strength: the A shaped structure of the back legs and backrest.

Alpha is designed by Brodie Neill and produced by Made In Ratio.

have used digital sculpting, taking away the traditional reliance on moulds and CNC routering as a high-production tool rather than a prototyping technology. Both have allowed us to create an almost seamless appearance in contrast to the more traditional joinery of chair design where each element is exposed. The chair organically and sensually moulds all the components into one, reinforcing our commitment to forward-thinking design.

We were thrilled to get an incredibly positive response to our installation from friends and clients, media and public, other designers and makers, and architects and buyers.”
