Jonah Takagi of Atelier Takagi has designed‘Kvadrat Basecamp’ for the Danish Textile manufacturer Kvadrat. To us, design of this minimalistic poduct eaisly triggered the childhood memories of imaginary camping areas, which we created in our houses.
Structures asymmetrical form creates a canopy over the Hallingdal-upholstered matress. With these relaxing and micro-environment specifications, the daybed is quiet a joyful room within a room.
‘Kvadrat Basecamp’ was exhibited as part of the Kvadrat Hallingdal 65 Exhibition, during Milano Design Week 2012. Hallingdal fabric was designed by Nanna Ditzel and first to be produced in 1965 by Kvadrat. It has since been updated with a new color scale known as the‘Hallingdal 65’. In celebration of the material’s success, Kvadrat has invited 32 designers to create new works and explore new applications for the fabric.
