Student Units

Tengbom Architects designed a student unit of only 10 square meters which is currently exhibited at the Virserum Art Museum in Sweden.

Both the choice of the materials and the design of the house is for students. The project which is a collaboration with wood manufacturer Martinsons and real estate company AF Bostäder has been prepared as a result of the meetings with the students of the University of Lund in order to fulfil the students’s needs is a collaboration with wood manufacturer Martinsons and real estate company AF Bostäder. In 2014, 22 units will be built and ready for students to move into.

Building affordable houses for students requires innovative and solution oriented approach. This living unit with its 10 sqm area presents a sleeping loft, kitchen, bath and a small garden with a patio. Tengbom Architects that prefers suitable materials for energy efficiency chooses  its assembling technique which can be done on site to reduce construction time.

The exhibit is open to the public until the 8th of December.
