Bauart Architects have designed the A+P House in Meilen, Switzerland.
The residence is planned and developed vertically in an area with the stunning views of Meilen.
Reading and studying is the main importance for owners of the A+P House. With an open access library with galleries, residents can read or study in each room, wether in the living room, the bathroom, the study or the kitchen. To further emphasize the importance of books for the clients, the ceiling above the ‘book tower‘ has been covered with a layer of gold, as an homage to historical paintings.
The staircase connects all six levels from basement to roof terrace. Through its interconnection with the library, the staircase turned into a valuable container for books in the end.
The entire volume of the house – similar to a jewelry box – is surrounded by fine wood slats and sculpturally shaped.
