Banya House by Tonic

A two storey, wide spacial and open plan house is designed by Tonic, an Australian design and architectural office and is called the ‘Banya’ house.

The idea behind this house was to create an astonishing urban oasis.

The house is designed around a central courtyard and exteriors in a complete harmony with interiors, as an extension of the wide, open space.

Ribbon windows are preferred to draw maximum benefit from the natural light and enjoy well designed landscape.

Besides the natural, complementary colors of stone and wood, contrast of white and dark tones of brown are chosen to be the dominant colors and let the accessories colorize interior living areas.

The plan set around a central courtyard with the pool as the main focus, letting all living spaces to open outside and meet the beautiful Queensland climate.
