This house designed by Javier Corvalán for a film-maker locates in the countryside outside capital city of Paraguay- Asunción.
Because the residents do not use the house for a long time- just during holidays- Javier Corvalán was asked to design a house both comfortable and hermetically sealed.
Javier Corvalán put that idea into practice by designing a house without windows and like a box(caja means box) but with a nuance: this box can be opened.
The walls of the two storey house was constructed by sandstone and it supports the concrete slab and galvanised steel above.
A manual winch opens the house and reveals the kitchen and living room.
