Cosgriff House by Christopher Polly Architect

Sydney based practice Christopher Polly Architect have renovated and transformed a house in Australia.

The project stands as being whole with it’s environment, planned in economical values and a lower ground living volume is sensitively inserted beneath the original fabric and structure of the home.

Faceted form of the house is optimized to benefit from natural daylight, as possible.

Existing geometries are extended and subverted to present an interpreted mirrored slice of the original vernacular form.

A bathroom, a main bedroom and an daptable bedroom or study area is added to the existing ground floor.

A passive ventilation, assisted by ceiling fans and a roof venting system is applied to exhaust trapped heat out of the original roof space.
