U.S. Architects Carver + Schicketanz designed this resident, which perfectly blends with the landscape, Dani Ridge House.
In Big Sur, California the house is located between an access road on one side and the steep slopes of the West Coast on the other.
Both interiors and the exteriors are designed as a complement to the natural environment. All parts of the house(stone and wooden walls, ribbon windows, matching ceilings and floors, camouflaged grassy roof) stands as a whole-in-one piece union of natural elements under the grassy and undulating roof.
All utilities, including the 5000 gallon water storage tank, were placed underground in order to preserve the surrounding landscape.
