The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) is a non-profit organisation that protects and promotes the interests of the profession of industrial design. The primary aim of the association is to advance the discipline of industrial design at an international level.
Founded in 1957, ICSID serves as a unified voice of over 50 nations through which members can express their views and be heard on an international platform. Since its inception, ICSID has continued to develop its wide-reaching network of students and professionals devoted to the recognition, success and growth of the industrial design community.
This year marks the 5th anniversary since the inception of World Industrial Design Day, which was created in 2007 on the occasion of Icsid’s 50th anniversary. Icsid sent out a global call to ask one simple question – What is industrial design?
The one-minute video was scripted with the help of YouTube videos that design professionals, students and enthusiasts uploaded after accepting ICSID’s video challenge to define industrial design in 10 seconds. And after that they shared it and ejoyed. You can watch 10 seconds movies through this link or there is a one minute video as a summary.
