Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept

Developed exclusively for PlayStation systems, Gran Turismo games are intended to emulate the appearance and performance of a large selection of vehicles, nearly all of which are licensed reproductions of real-world automobiles. Since the franchise’s debut in December 1997, over 70 million units have been sold worldwide for all Playstation systems, making it the highest selling video game franchise under the PlayStation brand. And it was so successful that now Mercedes-Benz has decided -not only to introduce- to design the AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept in collaboration with the creators of Playstation’s Gran Turismo. We can see the great joy of being a participant of a great unification on the faces of Kazunori Yamauchi (producer of the Gran Turismo series) and Gordon Wagener  (head of Mercedes-Benz design)…

Mercedes-Benz presented their new beauty at the LA Auto Show last week. The concept has a 577 HP 5.5 liter V8 twin turbo engine that is capable of producing 800 lb-ft of torque at 4500rpm!

It is made entirely from LEDs. The nostalgic shape of the front grille references the classic Mercedes-Benz 300SL.

And in addition, the AMG sound designers have come up with specially-tuned exhaust notes for the eight independent exhaust pipes which have been integrated into the tail light.
