Milano Design Week, which is one of the most important events during a year presents very important and beautiful designs as every year.
As Architecture of Life, we have been searching and choosing the best and latest designs during this event. Here is the “Danskina Rugs” presenting the first collection of Hella Jongerius as Design Director.
Hella Jongerius’ first designs for Danskina include Cork & Felt, Bold, Duotone, and Multitone.
Cork & Felt is an innovative design that combines two materials that are rarely seen together–cork and wool– and even less often used on the floor. The result is a rug that is as practical as it is beautiful: the coloured lines of the felt are arranged alongside the cork, resulting in an interesting rhythm of irregular stripes.
Bold, Duotone and Multitone are all made from 100 percent pure New Zealand wool and are hand woven by skilled weavers in India. Thick, warm and highly tactile, they each feature an appealing irregularity that comes from processes used in their making.
