Pavilion Puur by Emma Architecten

Dutch architecture practice Emma Architecten have completed a new visitors pavilion and cafe at Fort Diemerdam in Amsterdam.

In part of the project restoration and renovation of Fort Diemerdam in Amsterdam for the UNESCO world heritage list, a pavilion with a cafe is designed and built by Emma Architecten.

The pavilion stands on the site of a former soldiers shelter. The footprint of the former wooden cottage is taken as the basis for the restaurant. A wooden wall protects the place and the hospitality which is housed within. Whole design concept design is inspired by the undulating forms of the slopes and the surrounding landscape.
