The sofa designed by Demeter Fogarasi is both creative and nice. What does the designer tell about the sofa designed for the project “The New Textile Furniture” at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and covered with fabric donated by Danish firm Kvadrat?
“Walking through the classroom I discovered a new beauty in the needles sticking out of the needle pillows we had to make. This was my very first impression – I told myself this was so inspiring I should work with it. My main idea was to have a playful concept, referring to the inner child in everyone. Enlarged object by themselves generate the feeling of being little as children. With the enlarged needles I am relating to textile techniques in an abstract way.”
There is just one word for Fogarasi who is able to create huge designs by tiny inspirations: Great!
