Designed by MM++ architects/ MIMYA .co for a couple and their 3 kids, the house is built on a 8m wide and 22m deep plot in a residential district of Saigon.
The first room is the living and dining room, designed to encourage interaction between family’s members. There’s an open kitchen and an interior garden with a large roof opening, all merged together. A second block with two kid’s bedrooms are on the ground floor and parental suite and an additional bedroom is placed on the first floor.
The house is designed as a contemporary project with a“high end feeling”, while high quality finishing in furniture and equipment with a limited budget.
Natural ventilation (through top frame louvers on the facade, openings in the glass roof and back courtyard), indirect natural light and a large overhang roof on the front elevation to prevent direct sun light, make the house comfortable to live.
The project is briefly a Vietnamese urban house, combining traditional construction principles, low cost material solutions and contemporary design.
