The house overlooking the bay below was designed by HASSEL on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, in Australia.
King Point Residence was designed primarily as a slatted timber box on a limestone base and then was nestled into the adjacent sloping block.
The house which was designed skillfully in order to suggest a feeling of weightlessness is divided into many sectors. Private areas allow the property’s owners to rest and relax while shared places was thougt to be places to meet family, friends…
The house is reflected in the interior spaces where limestone is again used alongside recycled timber battens; the decorative elements provide a warm and familiar atmosphere.
