Having industrial, product and furniture designs in his portfolio, the London-based designer James McAdam is also a worried Londoner like the other 50% of the locals about his security and sleep with some form of self-defence to hand, for use against intruders… so he designed this!
The ‘Safe Bedside Table’ has a removable leg that acts as a club and a top that doubles as a shield for self-defence. This is for people who are willing to take on an intruder, providing an extra sense of security whilst in bed.
From its creator: “Here it is the [safest bedside table] you can buy. Made from Birch [plywood] Maple and Leather this table is priced at $245. It has been developed [since being] exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art NY and now being made in the UK for sale worldwide.”
