This 2 timber and glass house, designed by byHampson Williams Architecture in Dulwich,UK. was an old joinery workshop transformed into two elegant new houses with an awoseme contemporary look still so in touch with nature and envorienment.

A pair of bespoke detached houses on backlands site, formerly occupied by a joinery workshop surrenden by streets of victorian terraced houses. Conceived of a sustainable self build project with living roofs, it formed part of the 2004 RIBA exhibition”Future House London”.

The houses were also awarded a RIBA award and runner’s up prize for the Stephen Lawrence Award 2008.

From the architects;

“Developing a sensitive proposal that would dramatically improve the visual outlook for existing neighbours as well as provide a tranquil planted oasis for future inhabitants. With the site so closely bounded by adjoining properties, overlooking was always going to be of prime concern.”
