Brazilian firm studio mk27(exteriors by Marcio Kogan + Renata Furlanetto– interiors by Diana Radomysler) has completed the ‘V4 house’.
Contrary to the surrounding houses, a garden neighborhood of São Paulo, V4 House is a ground floor and almost disappears when seen from the street.
The one-storey sub-grade building stretches to the extremities of the site benefiting from large, open plan interiors as well as the exterior garden.
The living room is positioned in front of the house, under the vast concrete space which is perfect fit for a sunbath. The door frames, on both sides of the living room, can be completely retracted and are creating a an integration between the front garden, the living room and the back patio.
In the wooden box from where the concrete beam appears, are the two rooms that face the patio. The wooded shaded area enables to control the iner temperature and, simultaneously, offers privacy to the environments.
‘V4 house’ has been shortlisted in the ‘Housing’ category of the 2012 World Architecture Festival.
