Yanomani shoes by Breno Cintra

Brazilian designer Breno Cintra has developed a pair of wooden shoes that integrate cultural influences, inspired by the culture of Brazilian Aboriginal tribe Yanomani, their daily rituals and architecture.

Tribe members, as warriors, paint their bodies. For each event, there is a specific painting: fighting, hunting, marriage, death.

The shoes reflect the characteristics of their temporary architecture, which is traditionally constructed mainly of thatched palm leaves and wood.
